TS/SCI Position Overview We are seeking a highly qualified Responsible AI (RAI) Consultants to support Department of Defense (DoD) Responsible AI (RAI) initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of applied ethics, AI governance, and defense policy, with the ability to translate complex ethical considerations into actionable policies, frameworks, and technical practices. The ideal candidates will bring expertise in both the
technical and policy dimensions
of Responsible AI, serving as a bridge between AI development teams, cybersecurity experts, and senior DoD stakeholders. Responsibilities include: Designing, leading, and evaluating
Responsible AI (RAI) tabletop exercises
to assess DoD readiness and risk posture. Conducting
RAI gap analyses
and developing actionable recommendations, courses of action, and scoped projects to address capability and process needs. Writing, reviewing, and advising on
DoD RAI policy , ensuring alignment with ethical principles, mission requirements, and national defense priorities. Coordinating and supporting DoD-wide bodies such as the
Responsible AI Working Council , and providing expert input into cross-agency AI ethics discussions. Advising leadership on
human factors, cybersecurity, and data ethics considerations
in AI systems and recommending strategies to mitigate ethical risks. Serving as a trusted
ethics and governance advisor , translating complex AI challenges into policy and operational guidance. Position Requirements: Required Security Clearance: Active TS with SCI eligibility. Required Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Applied Ethics, AI Ethics, Data Ethics, Political Science, Policy, Government, or a related field. Note: a Master's degree reduces the preferred experience qualifications. Note to Applicants: If you have strong experience in

We recognize that expertise in RAI can come from a variety of professional, academic, and operational experiences, and we value candidates who bring depth in ethics, AI, and policy—even if your background does not align perfectly with each item. Preferred Qualifications: 8 years IT experience, including 5 years in AI. 2 years in cybersecurity, human factors, ethics, and policy. 2 years designing and running RAI tabletop exercises. 2 years conducting RAI gap analyses for the DoD. 5 years writing DoD RAI policy. 2 years coordinating DoD-wide bodies such as the RAI Working Council. Experience working directly with DoD stakeholders at the senior policy level. Track record of publishing, briefing, or advising on Responsible AI, ethics, or policy. Ability to navigate both
technical AI challenges
and
policy/governance frameworks
