Summary: The Trading Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the crude oil marketing and trading team. This position serves as a bridge between traders and key support functions, ensuring smooth execution of strategies, second-layer diligence, and facilitating optimized workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytically strong, and eager to learn the dynamics of a crude oil commercial organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide ETRM support to the trading team. Ensure that trade details, pricing models, and risk exposures are accurately communicated and reconciled across teams. Assist with ad-hoc research projects and market analysis to support broader commercial strategy. Build and improve tools (Excel, Python, VBA, or other platforms) to support trading activities and enhance efficiency across the marketing organization. Act as a point of coordination between trading and other groups including Risk, Operations, Accounting, and Scheduling. Partner directly with traders to provide timely analysis, pricing support, and second-layer diligence for trade ideas and strategies. Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or related field. Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. High proficiency in Excel; familiarity with data analysis tools (Python, SQL, VBA, Power BI, etc.) is a plus. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Demonstrated interest in energy markets, commodities, or trading preferred. Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level: The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience Working Conditions: Usually, normal office working conditions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
