Examples include Project Greensand, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea, and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital Growth plc.**Job Title:****Summary of Position**The successful candidate will be a foundational hire for the Credit Risk function for INEOS Energy Trading globally.

Reporting to the Head of Finance they will be responsible for building out and standardizing credit processes, establishing formal credit policies and identification of system solutions for both vetting and monitoring, as well as leading on counterparty analysis and credit negotiations for deal support.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for shaping and growing the function working closely with the Oil, Gas and LNG benches and Trade Finance team.**Primary Job Responsibilities*** Credit Risk Assessment & Recommendations* Conduct in-depth financial and industry analysis of counterparties, including financial statements, credit ratings, cash flow, collateral, and stress scenarios.* Recommend credit limits, terms, and mitigation strategies (e.g., LCs, guarantees, netting, collateral). Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc cost reports for senior management.* Seek approval of credit limits in line with delegation of authority* Monitoring & Exposure Management* Monitor daily credit exposure, escalate breaches, and manage adverse credit events across commodity trades* Develop quantitative risk metrics, and associated reporting such as Potential Future Exposure (PFE) and credit value-at-risk (CvaR) to assess and stress test counterparty exposure.* Report trends and risks to senior management and adjust strategies as needed* Stakeholder Collaboration* Collaborate with trading desks, risk, finance, legal, and other internal teams to structure, negotiate, and execute credit clauses and agreements (e.g. ISDA, Master Netting Agreements).* Policy & Process Improvement* Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory standards.* Drive enhancements in credit analysis workflows, tools, and reporting systems Assist with month-end close, accruals, and reconciliations.**Education & Experience**:* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CRC) preferred.* Minimum 5–8 years in credit analysis, preferably within commodities trading, energy, banking, or structured finance.* Experience with traders, bank risk teams, or rating agencies a plus.* Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and attention to detail.* Excellent written/verbal communication—capable of distilling complex analysis into actionable insight.* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to deadlineExperience in Offshore Oil Scouts Association and/or financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, and economic evaluations is a plus.**Travel & Additional Requirements:*** Work Location: Houston, TX* Travel as needed.* INEOS is a drug free workplace. This role will be exempt, and compensation includes both an annual salary and incentive compensation schemes.
