The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for managing the bridge between clinical issues of quality, safety, reliability, improvement, and excellence, their clinical discipline, and the Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Information Technology (IT) departments. The role may provide and/or direct the application of clinical software in the delivery of customer-owner care and is responsible for the application of clinical science in the validation, adoption, education, and maintenance of clinical software applications and/or electronic health records. Qualifications
SCF programs serve Alaska Native people affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Applicants should understand the cultures and needs of this population to support SCF’s mission and vision. Current professional license in the State of Alaska in one of the following: Nurse Practitioner, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacist, Physician Assistant, Physical Therapist, Registered Nurse, or Speech Language Pathologist Two (2) years’ experience in a clinical role providing direct patient care in the licensure area at SCF Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and scope of practice Native Preference: Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, SCF pursues Native preference in hiring, contracting and training. Certification is required before preference is granted. Employee Health Requirements: Compliance with our Employee Health Procedure is a condition of SCF employment. You must comply with job-related employee health screenings and immunizations prior to the first day of employment.
