Job: Automated Inspection Programmer

As an Automated Inspection Programmer, your role will involve programming, troubleshooting, training, scheduling, prioritizing, planning, reporting metrics, and driving continuous improvement for AOI and AXI inspection equipment. You will provide highly skilled programming and equipment support for production using automated inspection software. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring, resolving, and maintaining systemic programming-related issues.
Principal Responsibilities:
Perform machine program back-up.
Oversee the maintenance and adjustments of all automated inspection machine programs.
Generate reports for Engineering and Manufacturing detailing machine inspection programs.
Provide training to operators of equipment and repair stations regarding all automated inspection equipment.
Monitor and maintain the operation of automated inspection equipment.
Troubleshoot machine-related issues.
Perform calibrations and preventive maintenance.
Offer assistance, conduct investigations, and establish closed-loop feedback mechanisms for both upstream and downstream production sequences.
Edit, debug, and optimize inspection programs.
Ensure SMT AOI Equipment is correctly setup, operated, and maintained.
Solutions Manufacturing Open Positions:
Perform optical inspections on all printed circuit boards that have gone through SMT processes.
Execute program loading in accordance with established documentation.
Operate AOI machine.
Work closely with QA Manager and Process Engineers to resolve quality concerns.
Participate in company or special training classes with emphasis on employee improvement.
Maintain the function and condition of the AOI machines.
Train or cross train AOI operators.
Essential Responsibilities:
Basic computer skills, including the ability to learn and utilize ERP systems.
Proven experience in operating AOI machines and inspecting SMT PCBs.
Mechanical aptitude, strong computer skills, and experience in quality control and part identification.
Essential knowledge and skill in operating area-specific equipment.
Soldering experience that meets IPC-A-610/620 standards.
Highly proficient with IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
Ability to understand and interpret written and verbal instructions, with strong English communication skills.
Ability to adapt to daily changing priorities.
Expertise in operating Koh Young and Nordson AOI machines.
Comprehensive understanding of SMT and Through-hole processes.
Ability to interpret and apply industry standards, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Strong computer and mathematical skills.
Ability to identify components and component values.
Ability to perform detailed work under magnification.
Adherence to all inspection through-hole requirements.
Ability to document all faults within the QC/QA systems.
Ability to provide consistent feedback to all production lines to facilitate product quality improvements.
Ability to communicate process or component deviations to the SMT machine operator and technical support staff for immediate resolution.
Ability to create new programs and modify existing programs as needed.
Ability to analyze and interpret Engineering Change Notices.
Ability to accurately enter inspection data into computerized processes.
Mentor and guide coworkers/new hires as required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Physical Requirements: Employees will regularly alternate between standing and sitting according to the needs of each job or task being performed and will also endure lengthy periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Tasks require bending, as well as pushing and pulling equipment throughout the facility and operating various warehouse equipment. Proficiency with computer skills is also essential and may require the employee to stand or sit while using the computer.
