We are seeking a
Senior SharePoint & Power Platform Developer
to lead intranet development, modernization, and automation initiatives. This role will focus on leveraging the
Microsoft 365 ecosystem
to improve collaboration, optimize workflows, and deliver secure, user-friendly solutions that meet agency needs. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly skilled in SharePoint and the Power Platform, and capable of leading both technical execution and knowledge transfer. Contract Details
Duration of the Contract: 6 months Possibility for Extension: Yes Work Location: Hybrid (20% on-site, 80% remote) - you must be able to go on-site to Columbia, SC 1-2 times per week (commuting will be permitted). You MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate/commute to Columbia, SC prior to starting the role. Daily Duties & Responsibilities
Lead maintenance and enhancements of the agency’s intranet, including analysis, requirements gathering, UI/UX design, and development.
Manage
site provisioning, web parts, workflows, and branding
within SharePoint.
Leverage
Microsoft 365 tools
(Power Platform, MS Teams, SharePoint Online, etc.) to enhance collaboration.
Design and implement
Power Apps
and
Power Automate flows
to streamline business processes.
Develop solutions optimized for both desktop and mobile experiences.
Create technical documentation to support IT staff and end-users.
Collaborate with system administrators to ensure security and compliance, maximizing controls using best practices.
Ensure adherence to
agency policies, CJIS Security Guidance, and state security standards .
Facilitate meetings with IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendor partners.
Lead
technical workshops
and knowledge transfer sessions on SharePoint and Power Platform customization, automation, and modernization.
Provide governance guidance and best practices for SharePoint and Power Platform use.
Support
DevOps-based environment management
(DEV, TEST, UAT, PROD) with controlled release cycles.
Deliver weekly status reports to management.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of SharePoint development experience.
Proficiency in
SharePoint Online
and
Office 365 , with deep knowledge of features, functionality, and governance.
Proven experience designing and developing
intranets
using SharePoint 365, including custom layouts, features, and functionalities.
Strong expertise in
SharePoint customization
(sites, lists, libraries, workflows, and web parts).
Proficiency in
Microsoft Power Platform
(Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps).
Strong programming skills:
C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PowerShell .
Understanding of
information architecture principles
for effective content management.
Knowledge of
security and compliance standards
within SharePoint Online.
Ability to deliver
personalized user experiences
(dashboards, notifications, targeted content).
Strong
UI/UX design skills
with a focus on usability.
Excellent
communication and collaboration skills
for stakeholder engagement and user training.
Problem-solving ability to troubleshoot, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
Self-motivated, proactive, and effective in both independent and team settings.
Preferred Skills
Experience with
Microsoft Copilot integrations .
Ability to develop
M365 adoption strategies and roadmaps .
Knowledge of
gamification principles , with the ability to incorporate them into intranet design to drive adoption and engagement.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology Management, or related field
(or equivalent work experience).
Preferred (not required) certifications: Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Online
Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate
Equivalent Microsoft technical certifications
