The Application Architect is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and management of technology solutions that align with business needs, reflect best practices, and increase option value for the organization. This role involves making high-level design choices focused on manageability, scalability, usability, resiliency, availability, security, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership on design, development, and execution of software solutions.
Design and implement intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
Apply industry standards and domain models to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
Propose new technical architectures and enhancements to existing systems.
Estimate scope and effort for project tasks and allocate resources accordingly.
Offer subject matter expertise in technical architecture for new and ongoing projects.
Evaluate and test emerging technologies and tools.
Facilitate collaborative data modeling activities across stakeholders.
Support business development with data architecture and analysis requirements.
Facilitate effective team and client meetings.
Communicate project updates and organizational changes to the team.
Deliver clear, engaging presentations and escalate issues when necessary.
Foster teamwork, acknowledge contributions, and resolve conflicts.
Partner with IT leadership to enhance best practices and methodologies.
Travel as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
6+ years of experience in application architecture or related roles.
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Expertise in enterprise-scale application design using microservices, DDD, and cloud-native architectures.
Strong knowledge of security standards and prevention of common vulnerabilities.
Proficiency in .Net/.NetCore or Java development.
Deep understanding of web technologies, REST, GraphQL, and design patterns (CQRS, SAGA, etc.).
Experience with Azure, Docker, Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Generative AI technologies (LLM, RAG, OpenAI).
Experience in data modeling, schema design, and data integration.
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and .Net development best practices.
Experience in distributed computing and highly-available system architecture.
Familiarity with data validation, mining, and business intelligence.
Experience designing customer-facing applications and mission-critical systems.
Understanding of configuration management, source control, and usability concepts.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and customer service skills.
Experience overseeing multiple technical projects.
Knowledge of application security technologies (Active Directory/ADAM).
