Principal Investigator, Dr. Michele Tagliati, is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to join a dynamic team! Dr. Tagliati is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Scientist to support clinical trial development, neuroimaging and biomarker research, botulinum toxin, and deep brain stimulation research. His research interests include early and advanced therapeutics of Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and other movement disorders. Dr. Tagliati pioneered the use of deep brain stimulation in Parkinson's and dystonia, contributing to advances in outcome predictors and therapeutic settings of DBS. In this role, you will work independently but closely with the Principal Investigator and research staff. You will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, develop and adapt research techniques, analyze data, and assist in grant proposals. You will also participate in publications and presentations. Note that this position does not involve grant funding responsibilities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and perform experiments. Maintain experimental records, analyze results with the PI. Analyze, interpret, and summarize data. Operate and maintain equipment and instruments. Observe interactions with MD-patients or MD-human research subjects as relevant. Department-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neurologists, sleep medicine specialists, neuroscientists, bioengineers, and neuroimaging scientists. Screen eligible patients for clinical trials, ensuring compliance with criteria. Obtain informed consent and conduct clinical assessments (e.g., MDS-UPDRS, NMSS, BFMDRS). Research DBS programming optimization, including machine learning algorithms for adaptive stimulation. Contribute to institutional grand rounds, journal clubs, and seminars. Participate in professional development activities like workshops and grant writing. Qualifications
Education:
Doctorate (PhD) in a relevant research field required. Experience and Skills: Ability to work independently on research projects under mentorship. Technical and theoretical knowledge in the research area, gained during 1-5 years post-doctoral appointment. #LI-On-site #Jobs-Indeed About Us
