Location

This role is designated as fully remote, candidates must reside in the United States. The Main Responsibilities

Solution Design & Innovation: Architect scalable Metro Ethernet switching for campus/data center connectivity. Develop programmable WAN infrastructures tailored for distributed AI/ML workloads, connecting data sources, training clusters, edge inference points, and cloud environments. Integrate managed security (SASE, DDoS mitigation), edge computing, and professional services into core network designs. Apply SDN and network automation to create agile, efficient environments. Design solutions for seamless connectivity to public and private cloud platforms, ensuring integration with cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). Pre-Sales Support: Partner with sales teams to engage customers, discover requirements, and articulate the value of Lumen’s intelligent networking. Deliver technical presentations, proposals, and proof-of-concept demos for AI and data-intensive applications. Respond to complex RFPs/RFIs with competitive network designs, including managed services and cloud integration. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support: Work with product management to provide market feedback and drive new offerings in networking, security, edge computing, and cloud connectivity. Collaborate with engineering and service delivery teams for seamless implementation. Stay current on industry trends in AI networking, security, automation, and cloud integration. Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert in Metro Ethernet (EVPN-VXLAN), programmable WAN (SD-WAN, SASE), network automation, and infrastructure for AI workloads and cloud environments. Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives. What We Look For in a Candidate

Required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 7+ years in solution architecture, pre-sales engineering, or network design, focusing on enterprise WAN, Metro Ethernet, and data center networking. Proven experience designing large-scale WAN and Layer 2/3 deployments for enterprise/cloud customers. Deep knowledge of Metro Ethernet, and network security (SASE/SSE, DDoS mitigation, NGFW). Familiarity with network automation concepts Familiarity with architectures supporting AI/ML workloads and cloud service models. Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative skills. Willingness to travel up to 30%. Preferred Experience with edge computing, professional services, network design tools (Ciena Blue Planet, Nokia NSP), and certifications (Cisco, Juniper, cloud networking/security). Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors Location Based Pay Ranges: $99,225 - $132,300 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY. $104,192 - $138,915 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI. $109,148 - $145,530 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
