Assistant Controller – Houston, TX Highlights: Key contributor for a fast-growing industrial services company, reports to VP Controller Company is PE backed, growing fast and implementing new ERP system Opportunity to directly lead 6-8 accountants and establish & improve processes Brand new office space near Galleria, in office, flexible, very professional atmosphere Excellent opportunity to lead, improve processes, implement new system and still have great work life balance The ideal candidate will be a confident leader with a strong understanding of general ledger accounting, a passion for improving processes and the ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-growing environment that is implementing a new ERP system. Great communication skills and the ability to establish and drive processes is also key. Key Responsibilities
Lead 6–8 GL accountants through monthly close with accurate, timely reporting. Optimize close processes, oversight, and team development. Partner with field teams to ensure accurate financial results. Leverage Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) for analysis and entries. Oversee ERP implementation (go-live 1H 2026). Align workflows with operations, billing, and AP. Mentor team to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or candidate preferred. Proven ability to manage close processes efficiently. Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables) for analysis and entries. ERP system experience required. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Adaptable, proactive, and process-improvement focused. Public accounting or audit background preferred.
