About the Position The Human Resource Manager/Office Manager is a salaried, exempt position with excellent benefits.
Annual salary range is $68,640 to $80,000. The Human Resource Manager/Office Manager is responsible for the following: Responsibilities
1. Human Resources Management Works in Irvine, CA office 2 to 3 days a week; Works in Oceanside, CA warehouse 2 to 3 days a week – Varies based on needs. Builds an amazing culture that is motivated to elevate the organization to the next level. Ensures Workplace Safety and Well-being: Strives to provide a safe and healthy work environment, promotes employee well-being, and implements workplace safety programs. Communication: Communicates HR policies, procedures and information to employees in a clear and effective manner. Collaboration: Works with other departments and stakeholders to support organizational goals and achieve HR objectives. Ensures company is in compliance at all times with current state and local Human Resource laws. Takes necessary actions with notifications, warnings, etc. to ensure compliance at all times. Ensures proper company communication on company policies, organizational changes, holidays, etc. Ensures employee questions are answered in a timely manner. Performs other HR related issues as assigned by executive management. 2. Talent Acquisition and Management Recruiting and Hiring: Develops and implements recruitment strategies, sources candidates, conducts interviews, and makes hiring decisions. Posts jobs, monitors postings and reports status to hiring managers, candidates, etc. Onboarding: Ensures new hires are integrated into the organization and provided with the necessary resources and training to set them up for success. Performance Management: Partners with managers to evaluate employee performance. (e.g., 90-Days, Annually, Performance Improvement Plans). Training and Development: Identifies training needs, develops and implements training programs, and oversees professional development initiatives. Ensures all proper paperwork is completed for new hires, departures/terminations, leave of absence, etc. Change Management – Leads change management for new software, initiatives, etc. 3. Employee Relations and Compliance Employee Relations: Addresses employee concerns, resolves conflicts, and maintains a positive work environment. Compliance: Ensures the organization complies with all applicable HR laws and regulations, including employment law, wage and hour laws, and disability laws. Manages employee birthdays, anniversaries, major milestones and ensures they are celebrated. 4. Policy Development Develops and implements HR policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and legal requirements. Ensures these are published and acknowledged annually. 5. Benefits Management In partnership with CEO and Controller, manages company programs. (980 schedule, health insurance, 401K, company holidays, etc.). Manages employee-of-the-month programs including communication, nomination and fulfillment of awards. 6. Payroll Administration Oversees payroll processing and ensures accurate and timely payments to employees. Ensures non-exempt time cards are audited daily/weekly to ensure compliance with state laws. Serves as main point of contact with ADP – Builds a relationship with the ADP team and generates ideas for improvements. Manages PTO and sick days. ·Maintains and orders office supplies. ·Maintains and purchases employee snack and coffee supplies in kitchen. ·Monitors cleanliness and possible office repairs. ·Fields phone calls when needed. ·Coordinates special events such as company luncheons or client meetings. ·Performs duties as assigned by executive management. ·Schedules and manages quarterly company town halls meetings. General Building and Warehouse Maintenance
·Coordinates maintenance with vendors for miscellaneous building repairs including HVAC, changing light bulbs, plumbing issues, alarms and elevator maintenance. ·Serves as point of contact for the building owners and tenants. ·Performs other general duties as assigned by management. Qualifications, Skills, Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. HR Certification required; SHRM CP preferred. 5 to 7 years of experience in HR management. Minimum 2 years of recruiting, conducting employee onboarding experience. Strong knowledge of employee labor laws, compliance, and benefits administration. Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in HR software and systems. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Confidentiality and discretion required; attention to detail a must. Seniority level
