The Manager of Strategic Undergraduate Recruitment Events plans and implements large-scale recruitment programs for students across the enrollment funnel, as well as events for high school and community college counselors to support university goals. The Manager will oversee operational, financial, and personnel functions related to these events, support existing Admissions programming, collaborate with other university academic units and departments, and complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. Responsibilities
Coordinate and execute large-scale special recruitment programs, including admissions activities, external partner and student staffing, programming, preparation, day-of logistics, post-event follow-up, and coordination with off-site vendors and venues and contracting. Coordinate and execute counselor visit programs in fall and spring for high school and community college advisors, including all aspects of programming, staffing, logistics, and vendor coordination. Develop and execute communications to drive engagement and maximize attendance at special events, including working with the Senior Student Correspondence Manager on Slate event creation, invitation lists, emails, reminders, and post-event surveys. Partner with CRM Operations, Social Media Manager, and colleagues in MCOMM to market events via social media and other channels. Manage annual UM Counselor Luncheons (12 per year): invitation lists, facility reservations, food orders, staffing, programming, and logistics (pre-, day-of, and post-event). Serve as point person for UMKC events as part of NACAC 2027 conference hosted in Kansas City (6,000+ attendees). Support existing on-campus events (e.g., Commitment Day, Future Roo Day, Discover UMKC) by delegating major tasks as assigned by the Director of Admissions and the Assistant Director of Campus Visits. Develop and disseminate university information through presentations, communication plans, drip campaigns, publications, and related materials. Collaborate with university partners (academic units and campus departments) and community organizations; represent the Office of Admissions on university and/or community committees. Perform other duties as assigned. Shift
Position includes some early morning, weekend, and evening work. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree strongly preferred in Higher Education, Educational Administration, Student Personnel Administration, etc. 2-3 years of admissions, orientation, and/or new student programming preferred. Experience with large-scale event planning. Compensation
Anticipated Hiring Range: $52,915.20 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. Application Deadline
