Overview We\'re looking for a highly skilled Payment Specialist to join our client\'s accounting team. In this critical role, you\'ll manage various payment types, including wire transfers, ACH, and physical checks. You\'ll ensure all vendor payments are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies and SOX requirements, maintaining a strict separation of duties from the invoice input process.

Responsibilities
Execute and oversee all payment runs, including domestic and international wires, ACH, and physical checks, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and authorized.
Ensure strict compliance with SOX by maintaining a clear segregation of duties; this role is responsible for the execution of approved payments, not the initial invoice entry.
Conduct thorough daily and weekly reconciliations of payment transactions to guarantee accuracy and promptly resolve any inconsistencies.
Manage and update vendor records and payment information, ensuring data integrity.
Serve as a primary point of contact for payment inquiries, providing professional and timely responses to vendors and internal departments.
Contribute to key month-end closing procedures, specifically those related to cash disbursements.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve payment workflows, recommending solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have
Demonstrated experience as a Payment Specialist or in a similar accounts payable role, with a strong preference for experience in a publicly traded company or SOX-compliant environment.
In-depth expertise in processing wire transfers, ACH payments, and coordinating weekly check runs.
An unwavering commitment to accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
Exceptional organizational, time-management, and communication skills, with a track record of meeting strict deadlines.
The ability to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
