$75,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr The Human Resource Manager is a key member of the team, responsible for supporting and executing HR functions across the United States and Canada. This role will focus on employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, talent acquisition support, and HR policy implementation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of cross-border employment laws and HR best practices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, investigations, and conflict resolution across both U.S. and Canadian operations. Compliance & Policy: Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state/provincial, and local labor laws in both countries. Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies accordingly. Recruitment: Partner with department managers to post positions, screen candidates, and facilitate onboarding processes across multiple locations. Benefits Administration: Support open enrollment, benefit changes, and vendor communications for U.S. and Canadian employee benefits programs. HRIS & Records Management: Maintain HRIS data accuracy, manage employee files, and generate reports for headcount, turnover, and other HR metrics. Payroll Coordination: Liaise with payroll teams to ensure accurate data submission and compliance with U.S. and Canadian payroll requirements. Training & Development: Coordinate training sessions and assist with implementation of learning and development initiatives. Cross-Border Projects: Support HR initiatives involving North American workforce alignment, culture building, and operational efficiency. Monthly / Quarterly visits to Vancouver office required. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 5-10 years HR generalist experience, preferably supporting both U.S. and Canadian operations. Knowledge of U.S. (FLSA, FMLA, EEOC) and Canadian (ESA, Human Rights, WSIB/CSST) employment laws. Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, BambooHR). Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Highly ethical – honesty and Integrity are the cornerstone of Quality Craft. A working style that exemplifies honesty, integrity, candor, and respect for all others is a must. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality. Ability to travel between the US and Canadian locations. HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, CHRP) preferred. Bilingual (English/French, English/Spanish) a plus, but not required.
