Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics
in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics (DAEE). This is a unique opportunity for scholars specializing in
production economics, farm/ranch management, and precision agriculture
to join a nationally recognized research and teaching institution. The position combines
teaching, research, and service
responsibilities, with a balanced appointment shared between the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES) and the College of Agriculture. Position Overview

The successful candidate will: Teaching
– Deliver three courses per year in agricultural business, economics, financial engineering, and possibly master’s-level applied economics. Research
– Conduct impactful research in production economics, farm management, energy economics, precision agriculture, and financial risk management. Publish in leading peer-reviewed journals. Student Advising
– Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in academic and research pursuits. Outreach & Service
– Contribute to MSU’s mission by engaging stakeholders in Montana, nationally, and internationally. Balance of Workload
– The appointment consists of
45% teaching, 45% research, and 10% service . Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, or closely related field (completed before the start date). Evidence of strong potential for effectiveness in teaching, research, and outreach. Demonstrated scholarly interest in agricultural production and farm management relevant to Montana’s agricultural economy. Preferred Qualifications
Proven success in teaching and scholarly research. Interest in advancing the mission of the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES). Strength in economic theory and advanced quantitative methods. About the Department of Agricultural Economics & Economics (DAEE)
