## Principal Network ArchitectBenton Harbor,Michigan,USA## **This role in summary**Whirlpool Corporation is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Principal Network Architect, located at our Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor, MI, or at our World of Whirlpool location in downtown Chicago, IL. Employees in this role are required to be in the office five days per week. This enables employees to come together to collaborate in person. The Principal Network Architects’ responsibility and overall purpose is to ensure the life, functionality, and growth of the multi-service data network, as well as take a leading role in the design and implementation of network processes and services.The Principal Network Architect will drive strategic technology decisions aligned with global business imperatives to ensure the wired, wireless, and WAN performance helps enable results and innovation. This position will enable efficiencies and automation around our multi-region cloud network design and connectivity in a way that helps us mature our ability to leverage cloud-native services securely. The Principal Network Architect will oversee the workflow of service tickets and support processes and delegate these to strategic support suppliers (NOC). #LI-DD1## **Your responsibilities will include*** Design, implementation, and maintenance of our multi-region, multi-cloud (AWS/GCP) network environment that supports our IaaS VPCs and cloud-native (PaaS) capabilities* Plan and Architect

LAN, WAN, Wireless, Data Center, and other Network Service deployments, including (but not limited to) L2/L3 Switching, BGP and EIGRP Routing, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Load Balancing, IPAM, DNS/DHCP, Firewall, IPSec VPN, SD-WAN, and more* Lead and participate in the design and implementation of network security projects, including manufacturing segmentation deployments* Provide expert trouble resolution for escalated core network issues* Identify critical network maintenance tasks and create processes to implement* Evaluate and manage our core network monitoring and diagnostic tools to ensure our NOC has the processes and visibility to proactively support our global network* Perform after-hours support duties on occasion to sustain networking systems and service levels as well as to implement complex technical changes to support project or operations deployments - 24/7/365* 5-10% Domestic & International Travel## **Minimum requirements*** Bachelor's degree* 5+years of experience as a Network/Cloud/Infrastructure Architect## **Preferred skills and experiences*** Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field* AWS Certified (Solutions Architect or Advanced Networking)* Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer Certification* Cisco CCNP* Knowledge of manufacturing segmentation architectures with deployment experience* Experience designing and implementing connectivity and troubleshooting within AWS and/or GCP cloud platforms.

This includes an understanding of the cloud provider platforms, and their native networking services/tools* Experience with Cisco equipment and operating systems, including configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and support of routers and switches* LAN and WAN protocols and topologies (EIGRP, BGP, MPLS)* Experience with switching technologies (VLANs, Spanning-Tree, VSS)* Experience in security technologies, including Palo Alto firewalls, VPN, and Remote Access## **What we offer**, Whirlpool employee discount, fitness & educational reimbursement programs, kitchenettes, and more!
