Overview

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. Our SpaceX team is working on the toughest and most audacious projects on our planet: making humanity multiplanetary. As a software engineer on the SpaceX team, you will demonstrate extreme ownership through detailed and thorough design, testing, and deployment — ultimately seeing your software through all aspects of its life cycle. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams and think at a system level to ensure that your code is viable. Development timelines are fast, and you will rigorously explore solutions for previously unsolved or unknown problems. Every day, we push the limits of what is possible through innovation, determination, and teamwork to drive the mission to success.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Able to work effectively in a dynamic environment while assuming high levels of responsibility and accountability for software outcomes.

Experience in nimble engineering environments or in technical roles with tight time or budget constraints.

Demonstrated academic excellence or achievement in engineering, math, or science contexts.

Ability to manage multiple endeavors and work at a fast pace with significant responsibilities.

Academic record indicating strong performance; GPA or equivalent as applicable.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Willing to work long hours and weekends as needed.
