Full-Time (Exempt – Administrative)/At-Will Purpose:
The HR Generalist will serve as a key member of the Human Resource (HR) department engaged in recruitment, compliance, workforce development, leave administration, unemployment processing, employee relations, and employee retention efforts. Job Duties: Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Conducts new hire orientation and onboarding activities. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs. Assists with occupational health and safety submissions. Serves as a direct contact for questions, requests, and complaints. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Assists the department with compliance regulated activities. Maintains a working knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources. Conducts employee onboarding/new hire training sessions. Attends local career fairs and recruitment events. Maintains and disseminates the department’s recruitment calendar. Submits proposed event budget and needs list to Management for approval. Advertises events through media outlets and social media. Partners with IGOs and NGOs to schedule and host career fairs. All other duties as assigned by Company management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to manage stressful situations and difficult candidates professionally. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize assignments. Ability to communicate professionally in verbal and written form. Ability to execute recruitment management initiatives. Ability to proficiently utilize MS Office Suite. Understanding of the full life-cycle recruitment process. Understanding of unconventional recruitment resources. Understanding of social media data mining and internet candidate search practices. Experience:
5+ years of human resource experience preferably in the energy, oil & gas, or heavy civil construction industries. Physical Requirements: Ability to be physically seated for long periods of time. Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week. Ability to visually tolerate prolonged exposure to computer screens. Ability to read documents and materials in hard and soft copy form. Ability to walk, step, climb stairs to access areas. Ability to lift and carry up to and including 50 lb. objects. Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all-weather conditions. Education:
BA or BS in Business, Human Resources or a related field; candidates with professional experience will be considered in lieu of education. Travel:
