Are you interested in working with commercial EVs? EPG (EPGAmerica.com) is currently seeking a full-time, on-site Senior HIL Test Engineer for one of our partners that addresses the needs and challenges of clean energy technology for the commercial vehicle industry through the development of zero-emission commercial vehicles. In this position, your primary responsibility would be to oversee the development and design of validation documentation, testing procedures, software, as well as SIL and HIL models. You would also be responsible for creating test scripts and components. Your role would involve supporting a team that works on developing and validating advanced drive systems for upcoming electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as other electric drives utilized in commercial vehicles. Responsibilities

Developing testing procedures for features, components, and integration of eMobility systems in addition to validating the performance-based characteristics of e-vehicles. Planning, organizing, and executing verification and validation activities for electric vehicle systems related to various aspects, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, environmental, and high-voltage safety. Developing test scenarios based on reviewed software and control requirements. Executing tests to evaluate the usability of software and controls. Preparing comprehensive reports on all aspects related to the testing of software and controls and reporting these findings to the design team. Collaborating cross-functionally with teams involved in functional safety analysis, dFMEA, and mFMEA, focusing on software and hardware architecture. Supporting the development of design verification plans and reports (DVP&R) through identifying the objectives and applicable standards, defining test cases, and developing testing procedures. Advising project engineers and managers on the project scope, impacts, and timing related to HiL validation efforts and activities. Providing technical engineering assistance to colleagues both inside and outside the department. Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the trucking industry and applying this knowledge to improve the testing of designs to help improve the company's competitive market position. Requirements

5+ years of applicable HIL experience with battery specific products in a relevant industry (automotive, emobility, aerospace). Bachelor of Science in Engineering, ideally Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer, or other applicable engineering or technical field. Experience with CAN bus protocol. Automotive and/or Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies experience, highly preferred. Experience with CAN Networks and electrical test and measurement equipment (i.e. DMM, Oscilloscope, Vector CANalizer/CANoe). Experience with troubleshooting DAQ systems and Loggers preferred. Knowledge of embedded processor control logic with the ability to program controllers. Experience with automotive standards like ISO. Ability to interpret electrical circuits with a strong comprehension of electrical transients and steady-state properties. Knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems, as well as experience working with test instrumentation, data acquisition/analysis software, and testing methodology. Solid understanding of high voltage battery management systems, as well as experience with electric motors and drive-specific design. Experience with HIL simulation systems, such as DSpace, Typhoon, OPAL-RT, or similar software. Proficient in simulation and modeling using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and LabVIEW, as well as experience with model-based design. Proven work experience in developing and executing test cases related to eMobility electrical and software systems, including Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R).
