Manufacturing Quality Engineer, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, delivering fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. The Kuiper Manufacturing Quality team develops a Kuiper Quality System, scaling aerospace quality to volume and cost levels to meet end customer needs. This position will own quality system development, contributing to the design of requirements, processes, and systems used across the business. Export Control Requirement: Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Key Responsibilities

Develop and support Kuiper Quality management activities, including process definition and validation for assembly and test methods. Participate in Material Review Board discussions, determining product dispositions for nonconforming material. Support the development and launch of the Quality Management System across Project Kuiper. Investigate Production System issues, reducing defect rates and driving root cause corrective actions. Work with Receiving Inspection, Supplier Quality, and Engineering teams to develop and qualify inspection, monitoring, and verification methods. A Day in the Life

Perform daily defect resolution as the Quality member. Investigate Production System issues, reducing defect rates and driving root cause corrective actions. Implement the Kuiper Quality System through process development and launch mechanisms. Partner with cross-functional groups to develop and qualify internal production processes. Conduct Continuous Improvement activities to prevent recurrence of non-conformances. About the Team

The Kuiper Manufacturing Quality team delivers high-quality product lines while maintaining a fast production rate. Basic Qualifications

2+ years of hardware design and validation experience. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics, or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle. Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems.
