Overview

Associate Professor of Law / Professor of Law – University of Maine School of Law, Portland, Maine. The position is full-time, tenured or tenure-track, to begin in Fall 2026. The School of Law is interested in candidates whose focus includes property law and related subjects (including land use and environmental law). Role and responsibilities The successful candidate will teach and mentor students, engage in scholarly research, and contribute to the academic and service missions of the law school. Responsibilities may include curricular development, service on committees, and other duties typical for a senior faculty appointment. Both lateral and entry-level candidates will be considered. Rank and salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Qualifications Candidates must possess a J.D. degree, an excellent academic record, a record or promise of high scholarly achievement, and a record or promise of successful teaching and mentoring students.
