R136353**About the Opportunity****JOB SUMMARY**The Assistant Coach, Women's Swimming & Diving, will work with the head coach in maintaining a highly competitive Division I program to include practice and game coaching, recruitment of prospective student-athletes, compliance of NCAA and institutional rules, fund-raising, off-season conditioning, and administrative tasks.**RESPONSIBILITIES*** Directly responsible to oversee and administer all NCAA and Northeastern rules and regulations. Ensure that Northeastern swimming & Diving comply with the letter and spirit of all NCAA and institutional rules.* Plan practices with staff; attend practices and assist head coach in drill and workout situations. Understand and convey efficient swimming technique, training theory, and race analysis. Help design and manage training sessions. Manage and motivate a variety of personalities in a team setting. Primarily on pool deck, but also including practices at other campus facilities. Capture and maintain accurate records of practice and competition results.* Plan practices with staff; attend practices and assist head coach in drill and workout situations. Understand and convey efficient swimming technique, training theory, and race analysis. Help design and manage training sessions. Manage and motivate a variety of personalities in a team setting. Primarily on pool deck, but also including practices at other campus facilities. Capture and maintain accurate records of practice and competition results.* Assist in organizing fund raising opportunities in cooperation with the Husky Athletics Club in order to generate support for the Swimming & Diving Program including maintaining contact with alumni and donors.* Identify, contact, and cultivate a relationship and manage correspondence with select (academically and athletically qualified) student athletes via superior oral and written communication. Visit high schools, camps and competitions throughout the country in an effort to recruit student-athletes who will be great representatives of Northeastern University both in and out of the pool. Work with the head coach to make decisions on the allocation of athletic scholarship funds.**QUALIFICATIONS*** A bachelor's degree is required.* Candidate should have up to three years of coaching and recruiting experience in Division I Women's Swimming & Diving; a thorough knowledge recruiting practices and NCAA regulations; good organizational, communication, and time management skills; and the ability to take on multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting.* The candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends as well as be available for travel depending on the game schedules.* Previous collegiate competition experience is preferred.**Position Type**Athletics**Additional Information**Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.Northeastern has a comprehensive benefits package for benefit eligible employees.
