93940**SCHEDULE:*** Full-Time | Exempt* Monday – Friday* 10 Hour Shifts (4/10/40 AWS)**BENEFITS:** Benefit-eligible position, including:* Medical, dental, and vision insurance (Eligible on Start Date - No Waiting Period)* Paid time off (PTO)* Retirement plan (401k)* Holiday Pay**JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY**Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Operations, the infusion RN will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of quality patient care. The Charge Nurse is an entry-level management position responsible for the coordination of care on designated shifts. He/she will provide leadership to the staff members of the unit in infusion center.**ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES** include but are not limited to the following:* RN Clinician Charge Plans, coordinates and directs the daily operations of a specific shift on a clinical unit.* Supervises staff and facilitates communication with physicians and internal administrators to provide optimal patient and family-centered care.* Is recognized as a change agent and routinely leads efforts to strengthen organizational systems that support the mission, vision, and values of the department.* Adept at creative problem-solving, negotiating conflict, and collaborating with others.* Demonstrates insight, judgment, and clinically sound risk-taking. Role models expert communication skills to colleagues through example.* Demonstrates foresight regarding the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes based on intuition and experience.* Provides and coordinates the resources needed within the unit to provide optimal patient outcomes.* Role models time management skills through example.* Mentors other Registered Nurses to the role and functions of Charge Nurse.* Leads and coordinates team behavior between staff members and actively fosters the development of leadership skills in others.* Exhibits desire to hear and understand another's point of view.* Demonstrates and role models effective communication skills.* Takes a leadership role in building and maintaining an environment which fosters open and candid communication.* Serves as an arbitrator in resolution of conflicts between nursing staff.* Takes appropriate action to correct unacceptable communication/behavior as needed.* Actively participates in preparation of regulatory agency reviews.* Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff concerning policies, scheduling, assignments, organizational skills and daily operations.* Evaluates the impact of policies on daily operations.* Supports administrative decisions and facilitates daily operational issues with the staff.* Challenges and shapes systems on the unit and hospital wide to achieve best possible outcomes.* Aware of and supports units and colleagues needs through supportive and non-judgmental behaviors.* Actively empowers and advocates for nurses. Implements innovative approaches to meet the needs of patients and families.* Identifies, recognizes and responds to the needs of unit staff to ensure that staff has the resources and tools available to meet patient and family needs.* Takes appropriate action to address customer concerns and complaints (i.e., appropriate follow-up with Clinical Director of Operations).* Monitors issues and their resolution.* Identifies, initiates, and collaborates to provide needed educational programs.* Develops management/ leadership focused in-service (e.g., time management, team building, conflict resolution, budget, leadership activities).* Demonstrates current evidence-based practice and disseminates information.* Questions management practice as it relates to research and best clinical practice.* Completes performance reviews with Clinical Direct of Operations input as appropriate.* Responsibilities will include but are not limited to administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and biotherapy medications by multiple routes, insertion of peripheral IV’s, management of central access devices, patient assessment, symptom management and patient and caregiver education.**QUALIFICATIONS****:*** Graduate of Accredited Nursing Program, BSN preferred.* Current California RN license* Current certification in BLS and/or ALS* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.* ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Provider Card preferred (required within 1 year of employment)* OCN preferred* Previous Oncology Nursing experience preferred.**KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:*** Knowledge of chemotherapeutic/biologic agents.* Assessment skills with a strong understanding of common side effects and supportive care measures.* IV insertion skills and experience with management/troubleshooting a variety of central access devices.* Time management and critical thinking skills* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.* Basic computer skills and experience with Electronic Medical Records.* Excellent communication skills**PHYSICAL FACTORS/REQUIREMENTS****:**The physical abilities required of this position may include but are not limited to the following:* Vision sufficient to read handwritten, typed and computer documents throughout the shift* Speech and hearing sufficient to receive and communicate detailed information clearly by phone and in person* Motor skills sufficient to handle, use or operate computer terminal, fax machine, copier, telephone, needles, IV,* Manual dexterity sufficient to use a variety of hand held tools and to manipulate single sheets of paper and/or file materials* Physical ability to reach, lift, and bend to retrieve and/or file materials* Physical ability to sit, stand or otherwise remain stationary at work post for long periods of time* Physical ability to lift and carry 20 lbs.* Physical ability to walk up and down one flight of stairs and between patient**Salary Range:
