Duties
The web developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting Montana Technological University’s websites, www.mtech.edu and intranet.mtech.edu. The university’s main website uses the Cascade content management system. The candidate will have a strong knowledge of CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, responsive design, best practices for website design, maintenance and support, and web content management systems. The position will manage day-to-day operations of the institutional web presence, including content migration and editing, programming, graphic design, and interface design. The web developer will work across campus to obtain content from a variety of sources for use on the website. The position will coordinate with the information technology department to test and maintain web servers and related software. This is a full-time, on-campus position and will be part of the Marketing and Communications team. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field obtained by December 2025 or 2 years’ experience building commercial or nonprofit websites, including all aspects of design, information architecture, content development, communications strategy, and application programming Proficient with HTML (preferably HTML5), CSS (preferably CSS3), JavaScript, and ASP Strong oral and written communication Ability to work collaboratively and build professional relationships with colleagues and constituents Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Cascade CMS Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Access, and Apache Velocity Understanding of higher education marketing practices and strategies for college/university websites Knowledge of the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Application Details
