To be successful in this role, you should possess solid analytical, design and problem-diagnosis skills. Expertise with query processing and optimization and high-performance systems is a plus. You will lead multiple teams in designing, implementing, and owning high- and low-level system components to make Aurora Database highly available, scalable, reliable and fast. You should be comfortable hiring and building your team, mentoring junior engineers, and harmonizing operational responsibilities with innovation. Responsibilities

Lead multiple teams in designing, implementing, and owning high- and low-level system components to make Aurora Database highly available, scalable, reliable and fast. Hire and build your team, mentor junior engineers, and harmonize operational responsibilities with innovation. Translate high-level technical requirements into executable project plans. Collaborate with product and program management to drive alignment and delivery of features and improvements. Basic Qualifications

3+ years of engineering team management experience 7+ years of engineering experience 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred Qualifications

The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
