Job Description
We are looking for a visionary
Senior SAP ABAP Architect
to be the technical cornerstone of our Supply Chain systems landscape. This is not just a development role; we need a master craftsman who has a
knack for turning complex business challenges into elegant, robust, and scalable technical solutions . The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business process and technical reality, possessing a deep understanding of core supply chain modules ( SD, MM, EWM ) and the expert ABAP skills to build the solutions that drive our business forward. Key Responsibilities Solution Architecture:
Lead the technical design and architecture of custom end-to-end solutions across our SAP landscape, focusing on high-impact supply chain projects.
Business Process Translation:
Collaborate directly with functional consultants and business stakeholders in
Sales & Distribution (SD) ,
Materials Management (MM) , and
Extended Warehouse Management (EWM)
to deeply understand requirements, pain points, and opportunities for innovation.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship:
Guide and mentor a team of ABAP developers. Establish and govern coding standards, conduct rigorous code reviews, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Hands-on Prototyping & Problem Solving:
While leading architecture, remain hands-on to develop Proofs-of-Concept (PoCs), tackle the most complex development challenges, and perform advanced performance tuning and optimization.
Innovation and Modernization:
Champion the adoption of modern SAP technologies, including S/4HANA extensions (CDS Views, AMDPs), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services, and Fiori/UI5 applications to build next-generation user experiences.
Governance and Quality Assurance:
Define and enforce the development lifecycle and best practices to ensure all custom solutions are reliable, maintainable, and align with long-term strategic goals. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience:
A minimum of
12-15 years
in SAP ABAP development, with at least 4 years in a Technical Architect or Lead capacity.
Supply Chain Business Acumen:
A
deep functional understanding of core supply chain business processes
is mandatory. You must be able to confidently discuss and design solutions within
SD, MM, and EWM .
Architectural Mindset:
A demonstrated ability to
architect and build innovative solutions from the ground up , not just enhance existing ones.
Core ABAP Expertise:
Mastery of modern Object-Oriented (OO) ABAP, the complete range of RICEF-W objects, and advanced enhancement/modification techniques (BAdIs, Enhancement Spots).
S/4HANA Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with S/4HANA development, including CDS Views, AMDP, and OData services.
Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead development teams, mentor junior developers, and command technical respect.
Communication:
Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) or SAP Fiori/UI5 development.
Knowledge of integration technologies like CPI or PI/PO.
SAP certification in ABAP development.
Experience working within an Agile/Scrum project methodology.
