At MTech Systems, our company mission is to increase yield in protein production to help feed the growing world population without compromising animal welfare or damaging the planet. MTech Systems is a prominent provider of tools for managing performance in Live Animal Protein Production. For over 30 years, MTech Systems has provided cutting-edge enterprise data solutions for all aspects of the live poultry operations cycle. Job Summary We are looking for a
Sr. Software Engineer
to join the
R&D team . Our team is looking for a motivated professional who is skilled in software development, delivering high-quality products, and building multifaceted enterprise applications for a diverse and growing international client base. We are proud to foster a workplace that promotes teamwork, advanced development tools, training, and continuous engagement with senior and executive management.
What you’ll do
Design and build backend services and internal libraries in .NET/ASP.NET Core; evolve prototypes into reliable, observable services.
Build quick POCs for agents/workflows using
Semantic Kernel
(function calling, plugins, tool orchestration, prompt/version management, RAG).
Implement cloud-native patterns on
Azure
(App Service/Functions, Storage, Service Bus, Azure SQL/Cosmos DB) with CI/CD in Azure DevOps.
(Optional) Ship high-quality
Angular
components and internal tooling (Nx monorepo, Jest/Cypress).
Contribute through design docs, code reviews, and mentorship; raise the bar on reliability, performance, and developer experience.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in CS or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years building production software; strong C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core, Web APIs).
Azure experience with at least two: App Service/Functions, Service Bus/Queues, Storage, Azure SQL (EF Core), Cosmos DB, Key Vault.
Solid software design fundamentals (DDD where it helps, SOLID), async/distributed systems, and performance profiling.
CI/CD with Azure DevOps (pipelines, environments)
Practical security/auth: OAuth 2.0/OIDC, service-to-service auth, secrets management.
Proficient written/spoken English for specs, design reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
Nice to have
Semantic Kernel in production (plugins/tools, agentic patterns), Azure OpenAI or other LLM providers; RAG with Azure AI Search
Angular (v15+), RxJS, Nx; Ionic for mobile.
Messaging & jobs: NServiceBus, Azure Service Bus, Hangfire/Durable Functions.
Observability: Application Insights, OpenTelemetry.
Data/analytics: SQL tuning, Power BI Embedded, Databricks/Spark.
Feature flags (LaunchDarkly), domain eventing, multi-tenant SaaS experience.
