Lead Risk Analyst (This is a remote position open to applicants in TX, NM, AZ, KS, MO, and CO) Job Description
The Lead Risk Analyst oversees the daily operations of the Risk and Compliance team, ensuring adherence to security best practices and organizational standards. This role provides leadership, guidance, and performance oversight to staff, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. The Lead Risk Analyst manages incident response activities, addressing escalated security events, SIEM alerts, and tool issues to minimize risk and downtime. Responsibilities include monitoring MDR/EDR alerts, phishing tickets, and firewall requests while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring operational efficiency. The role also conducts compliance audits, vulnerability assessments, and security awareness reviews. Additional duties include developing after-hours response plans, coordinating emergency response efforts, and advising clients on security improvements and Zero Trust implementations. This position requires proactive leadership in training, workflow management, and providing timely feedback to support team and departmental goals. Qualifications
3 years of experience in a SOC or incident response role. CompTIA Security+ certification Proven experience in leading Risk and Compliance roles, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity applications, public cloud platforms, Microsoft 365, firewalls, SIEM systems, vulnerability management, and EDR tools. All positions require the successful completion of a criminal background check, and further background checks if the position involves access to sensitive information or secure facilities. Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, Open Arrest for any Criminal Offense, and Family Violence Convictions.
