As an Agency Billing Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring every number lines up perfectly and every transaction is handled with accuracy and efficiency. In this fast-paced, detail-driven environment, you’ll manage client invoicing, cash receipts, premium payments, and reconciliations—keeping our financial processes running smoothly. You’ll work closely with carriers, brokers, and internal teams to maintain compliance and support our mission of providing exceptional service and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
Process client invoicing for agency bill accounts with accuracy and timeliness Apply and reconcile cash receipts against open balances Process premium payments to carriers and reconcile premium payable accounts Verify and resolve billing discrepancies with carriers, brokers, and internal teams Maintain detailed billing and payment records in Applied Epic and accounting platforms Support month-end closing processes, including premium payable reconciliations and journal entries Collaborate with sales and service teams to address billing-related inquiries Ensure compliance with trust accounting guidelines, GAAP standards, and internal policies Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests as needed Requirements
1+ years of experience in insurance agency accounting or billing roles (required) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) Demonstrated experience in invoicing, cash receipting, premium payments, and payable reconciliations Applied Epic experience (required) Familiarity with trust accounting, GAAP standards, and Microsoft Excel High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills Proactive problem-solver and effective communicator
