Senior Financial Reporting Accountant – $75-100K – Fortune 500 – Atlanta

JOB DESCRIPTION: Prepare accurate reporting and filing of annual, quarterly, and other periodic financial reports (primarily on Forms 10-K and 10-Q). Develop and manage SEC filings related to XBRL reporting Support the annual audits, quarterly reviews and other reports by external auditors. Calculate and book journals in HFM for the Intercompany profit elimination journals for inter-company acquired inventory as part of the monthly financial close process. Build relationships with different functions within the Client Business including sales, manufacturing, pricing and tax teams in order to understand the transfer pricing process and its objectives. Perform the distributor elimination journals for all regional distributor locations worldwide and post the journal in HFM. Assist external auditors and internal auditors with their reviews of the financial consolidations processes. Strive for continuous improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of all day to day processes to make them more time efficient and to improve accuracy and quality. Cross train with other consolidations team member to learn their roles & functions to be able to back them up in the event of emergencies. Assist in any other special projects as requested such as new accounting standard implementation and technical accounting topic documentation. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and required hours for CPA certification 2-4 years of experience in financial reporting or auditing public companies CPA or CPA candidate Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of management Experience with technical accounting topics Experience with international consolidation accounting, interaction/ presentations with senior management and audit experience. Experience in US GAAP accounting and reporting MS Windows (Excel) advanced user Ability to use a variety of software programs and tools to analyze and work with large data sets and accomplish tasks efficiently Strong analytical skills, ability to research issues in complex accounting structure to resolve problems; Detail oriented, yet able to identify issues and grasp concepts at broader level Must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to work with a variety of individuals in both team and self-directed environments Ability to work within defined time constraints and within deadlines during month end financial close. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with international consolidation accounting, interaction/ presentations with senior management and audit experience. Prior experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Smartview tools.
