We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to join our finance team. The successful candidate will perform a variety of intermediate accounting and fiscal record keeping activities. Complete tasks necessary to assure organizational compliance with generally accepted accounting principles for non-profit organizations including processing of accounts payable, accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll, reconciliation of financial institution accounts, maintenance of financial records, and other projects as needed. This position is full-time and qualifies for hybrid-remote work after an in-office training period. Required onsite workdays will be at our clinic in Hood River, Oregon. Responsibilities

Prepare standard journal entries for monthly close including: depreciation, amortization, and accruals. Prepare investment journal entries. Retrieve bank statements and reconcile all bank accounts monthly. Track contract pharmacy revenue and reconcile contract pharmacy accounts. Prepare monthly prepaid amortization journal entry. Prepare monthly leave accrual journal entry, Create reports for BOLi. Works with HR on annual Workers Compensation audit. Prepare and track garnishments in ADP payroll and communicate with garnishers when appropriate. Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll. Manage and import ADP GL payroll transfers monthly. Work with HR when updates to payroll are required. Document and update current payroll system. Process termination checks when necessary. Monitor and print state and federal payroll tax quarterly reports. Train on year end payroll reporting requirements and new payroll changes. Keeps documentation on payroll processes and workflows and updates as needed. Provide ad-hoc payroll reports to CFO as needed. Reconcile ADP yearend W2 processing for CFO approval. Helps prepare yearly budget by providing payroll and other expense information. Reconcile various general ledger and payroll accounts for yearly audit. Qualifications

Knowledge of finance and accounting processes and practices, including: period end close, financial consolidations, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis. Knowledge of Wage and Hour compliance and proactive approach to staying current with payroll and tax compliance and best practices. Understands HIPPA and privacy laws and other applicable regulations. 3+ years of experience as an accountant. 2+ years of experience in payroll processing. Experience in a non-profit healthcare setting, preferably within a federally qualified health center. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Preferred

Understand and work with HRSA requirements and expectations. Advance Excel skills. MIP accounting software experience. ADP Payroll Processing experience. Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards (FASB, GAAP) and federal grant compliance (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance). Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Salaried/Exempt: Starting at $125,000 annually, increases depending on experience Bilingual Differential: Additionally, we offer $0.75 per hour as compensation for bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish.
