Overview
Take on a key leadership role within a world-class, award-winning health system. As Senior Reimbursement Manager at UCLA Health, you will oversee complex reimbursement activities that directly support the financial sustainability of the hospital system. Reporting to the Director of Reimbursement, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, maximize Medi-Cal Waiver reimbursement, manage regulatory cost reports, and provide critical analysis for revenue and reserve estimates.
This position plays a key role in cross-functional collaboration, working with Budget, Contract Management, Revenue Cycle, Operations, Decision Support, and other teams to ensure financial accuracy and policy compliance. You will also lead audit response efforts, support strategic initiatives, and deliver insights that shape UCLA Health’s financial planning and operations.
In this role, you will:
Responsibilities
Prepare and file annual Medicare and Medi-Cal cost reports; lead audit responses for intermediaries, PwC, and CMS.
Calculate and book monthly contractual and bad debt reserve estimates during close, preparing journal entries using Crowe RCA and AR models.
Analyze net revenue reports, identify trends/variances, and provide explanations to finance leadership.
Compile, review, and reconcile month-end close reports between the General Ledger and Crowe RCA/AR models.
Monitor and update Crowe RCA mapping to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Partner with General Accounting, Decision Support, Budget, and Contracting to improve reporting accuracy, reimbursement strategies, and close processes.
Develop UCLA Health’s net revenue budget with Contracting and Budget teams.
Manage Medi-Cal Waiver reimbursement, including FFS estimates and Managed Care entitlements.
Track regulatory changes, attend industry conferences, and provide reimbursement training.
Support year-end financial audits and lead audit response activities.
Conduct ad hoc financial modeling and impact analysis to guide policy and operational decisions.
Ensure reporting and close deadlines are consistently met and deliverables are enhanced for senior leadership, including the CFO.
Salary Range:
$105,700– $234,500 annually
