Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Job Purpose:

The Controller is responsible for leading the accounting function and managing the integrity of the company's financial reporting processes. This role oversees the month-end and year-end close cycles, ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and leads a team across core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, lease and commission accounting, and expense reporting. Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor the accounting team, including hiring, training, performance management, and career development. Oversee timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Manage all aspects of the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., billing, compensation, operations) to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting. Ensure timely processing of accounts payable and employee reimbursements. Support internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and coordination of requests. Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. Assist the CFO with special projects, strategic initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis. Qualifications: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders. Commitment to high ethical standards and professional integrity. Experience & Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior management responsibility. Public accounting experience a plus but not required. Experience with enterprise accounting systems (ERP); proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
