humanresources@pers.ms.gov . The Investment Department advises the Board on investment matters and manages the investment program in accordance with Board policies. This position focuses on managing PERS's alternative and private markets investment portfolios, including real estate, infrastructure, and private equity within the Defined Benefit plan. Responsibilities include overseeing external managers, analyzing and monitoring portfolio performance, and supporting investment strategy formulation. Key duties: Oversee external real estate and private equity investment managers, including research, analysis, and performance evaluation. Engage with investment consultants, fund custodians, and managers through regular communication, including quarterly and annual reviews. Maintain financial and market analysis data to support investment decisions. Assist in formulating and implementing investment strategies for the Board. Research and evaluate alternative investment opportunities, monitoring market trends relevant to these investments. Qualifications for success include: High initiative, professionalism, confidentiality, and ability to work under pressure. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong analytical, communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred qualifications: Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience; CFA designation is advantageous. Advanced degrees such as an MBA are preferred.
