Overview

Our client is seeking a Controller who will play a critical leadership role in overseeing all financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance across accounting, reporting, and internal controls. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, preparing consolidated financial statements, and supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis and reporting. As a key member of the management team, the Controller will work closely with executive leadership to guide fiscal planning, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain strong financial health across multiple real estate development projects and affiliated entities. The ideal candidate will work closely with the executive team to ensure that the company remains financially healthy and adheres to good financial and accounting practices. Responsibilities

Overseeing the organization’s daily accounting functions Managing the accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable departments Communicating regularly with (and reporting to) the EVP Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements Coordinating activities of external auditors Managing insurance needs Coordinating and preparing tax schedules and reports Oversee debt compliance Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance Hiring, training and retaining accounting staff Qualifications

BA or BS degree in accounting, finance or business from an accredited university. A CPA license is preferred but not required. Minimum of 10-20 years of accounting experience working in a public accounting firm or in-house with a private or public corporation. Ability to analyze financial issues and provide practical solutions. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong ethical standards and a commitment to professional integrity. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
