Overview
Our client, a dynamic non-profit serving communities throughout Central and South America that helps build schools and community centers, is seeking a responsible, detail-oriented, and proactive bookkeeper.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update the general ledger using QuickBooks Online. Process accounts payable and receivable. Code and post invoices, prepare deposits, and journal entries. Monitor and track credit card expenditures. Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts monthly. Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, A/P, and A/R reports. Verify, fact-check and correct accounting data as needed. Track in-kind donations and prepare partner invoices in a timely manner. Support the Director of Finance in preparing the annual budget. Assist with preparation for the annual audit and year-end close activities. Maintain organized, digital and physical filing system of financial documentation. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Update and maintain financial procedures and documentation. Complete special projects or ad hoc assignments as requested by the Director of Finance. Qualifications
Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and accounting software. Minimum of three (3) years of nonprofit accounting/bookkeeping experience. In-depth understanding of GAAP and nonprofit finance principles. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and integrity. Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Bilingual in Spanish Location
