Senior Systems Architect, Payroll & HR
— Work Mode: Hybrid. Location: Kohler, WI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will have experience designing and writing specifications for integrations with the Workday HCM system and providing integration support with global payroll and time and attendance systems. Basic Objective The Senior Systems Architect – Payroll & HR is responsible for providing technical thought leadership in designing Payroll & HR system integrations with our global Workday HCM system. They will partner with the Business Solution Manager and Delivery Managers, recommending options that deliver the most optimal solution while meeting Kohler’s design standards. They will monitor HR trends and industry platforms to identify new capabilities, conduct proofs of concept, and evolve standards. Responsibilities Combine HR/Payroll business acumen with technical skills, working closely with HR/Payroll to architect high quality solutions. Design reusable, secure, reliable, cost-effective, and high-performing solutions. Develop solution options, recommendations, and designs based on roadmaps, requirements, standards, and reference architectures. Provide input on HR/Payroll technology roadmaps and strategy with HR business stakeholders and the IT Business Process Organization. Identify and evaluate new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with the technology roadmap and business value. Provide technical leadership and effectively collaborate with onshore or offshore teams. Advocate and drive adoption of standard methodologies to ensure consistency of solution designs across HR/Payroll implementations through design reviews. Create technical design documentation, technical specifications, and data mapping documents for assigned projects. Provide thought leadership and assist in the development of test strategies; participate in testing phases through plan development, execution, and issue resolution. Lead the estimation process for project proposals during financial planning. Provide leadership guidance to a managed service team for day-to-day support and tier three support. Key Skills Workday knowledge of standard connectors, APIs, EIBs, and Workday Studio. Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and fact-finding skills. Ability to understand the customer’s business problem and design a solution that addresses the need. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to identify, clarify and resolve project issues and risks as needed. Ability to identify data governance issues and assist with security requirements and compliance. Ability to manage and prioritize time and resources efficiently and effectively. Ability to work independently and mentor less experienced team members. Skills/Requirements Overall 7+ years of implementation experience in HR, Payroll or IT. Experience architecting/designing global HR/Payroll system implementations. Bachelor’s degree in information technology preferred. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $129,150 - $165,000. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401k. Kohler offers day 1 benefits with no waiting period.
