Position The College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach face to face and remote online survey courses in History, such as Western Civilization, U.S. History, and African American History. Adjunct faculty are selected based on the needs of the program, applicant proficiency, course availability, and student enrollment.

Preferred candidates are enthusiastic about content and pedagogy, use best teaching practices, and are committed to student learning. Preference will be given to applicants who present evidence of excellence in teaching.

Adjunct Level 1 - $1,085 per credit hour.

Campus Locations - Essex, Dundalk, Catonsville & Owings Mills

Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in History or a related field. Prior teaching experience preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

Prepare and deliver course instruction, follow common course outlines and policies, utilize the CCBC learning management system, grade, critique, and evaluate student work, provide timely feedback to students, keep and submit accurate classroom records, communicate with the discipline coordinator, attend required training sessions, and attend professional development and departmental meetings.

Mentor students and contribute to the success of the history program.

Support the community college philosophy through commitment to success of students with diverse goals, backgrounds and learning styles.

Commitment to the mission of the community college.

Maintain currency in field(s) through professional development and scholarly activities.

Perform related duties as required.
