## Assistant Professor - Tenure-Track - Counselor Education## ***Current Employees: If you are currently employed at any of the Universities of Wisconsin, log in to Workday to apply through the internal application process.***## **Position Title:**Assistant Professor - Tenure-Track - Counselor Education## **Job Category:**Faculty## **Employment Type:**Regular## **Job Profile:**Assistant Professor## **Job Duties:**The Department of Counselor Education in the College of Education and Professional Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a tenure-track faculty member in the area of Counselor Education and Supervision beginning August 2026. This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching graduate courses in the combined clinical mental health and school counseling master’s programs, research, and service to the university, community, and profession. Research and teaching expertise should complement existing faculty expertise and may include experience in school counseling, clinical mental health, addictions, or marriage and family counseling.**Job Details:**The successful candidate will be able to teach a variety of courses as part of the clinical mental health and school counseling programs. The candidate will also be expected to pursue an active research agenda that engages graduate students, results in publications and contributes to advancing the department, university, the profession, and society. The candidate will also be expected to participate in service activities and embrace the principles of diversity and inclusion as a member of the university community.**Responsibilities:**Full-Time teaching responsibilities include teaching core and elective counseling courses, providing supervision for practicum, internship, and providing crisis support and consultation to practicum students in our Winther Counseling Services. Research expectations include publication and presentations in areas of expertise with the potential for grant activity. In addition, faculty members serve as program advisors to students and are encouraged to engage students in scholarly and creative activities. Service responsibilities include committee service at the departmental, college, and university levels as well as participation in community organizations and the discipline as relevant to the candidate’s expertise and interest. Candidate demonstrates commitment to program administration, including shared leadership responsibilities in the department. Faculty at UW-W may be required to teach in a variety of formats, including in-person, online and/or in a hybrid format, or courses in the evenings or on weekends. All students, faculty, and staff are required to ensure their materials are digitally accessible and utilize standard technology platforms supported by UW-Whitewater. Examples include, but are not limited to, Navigate, Canvas, and Microsoft Office applications – including Outlook, which is essential for university email communications and scheduling.**Department Information:**The Counselor Education Department has 6 full-time faculty members, a clinical assistant professor, and a counseling services manager. This relational and collaborative master's program includes a 60-credit program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a 60-credit program for School Counseling. The counseling program has been accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and other Related Educational Programs (CACREP) since 2000. The school counseling program and post master’s Educator to School Counselor certificate is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
