HELP OUT: White Cane Luncheon

HOSD.org/211sandiego., San Diego, California, United States, 92189

Save Job

Directly support the San Diego Center for the Blind’s mission to help people who are blind or visually impaired achieve independence by volunteering at their White Cane Luncheon. Volunteers ensure the event is welcoming, inclusive, and smooth by guiding guests, assisting with registration, managing the silent auction, serving meals, and providing general support. Your presence helps remove barriers for attendees, raises awareness of the white cane as a symbol of empowerment, and strengthens community ties. More than just helping at a luncheon, you’ll be creating an experience that leaves every guest feeling valued, supported, and celebrated. Volunteer tasks may include: Guiding visually impaired guests throughout the venue, assisting with registration and check-in, supporting the silent auction (setup, monitoring, closeout), greeting and welcoming attendees, serving meals and clearing tables, and helping with event setup and cleanup. No experience is required — just bring kindness, energy, and a willingness to help. Your time will directly impact their mission and create a meaningful experience for all guests.
