Environmental Laboratory Analyst

3 Months. Position Overview
We are seeking a
detail-oriented Environmental Laboratory Analyst
to join our laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, preparing, and analyzing environmental samples in compliance with
EPA ,
ASTM , and
NELAC
standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge of laboratory practices, and the ability to perform effectively in a
high-volume, regulated laboratory environment . Candidates with prior
wet chemistry
or
environmental testing
experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Education
Some college coursework preferred —
Science-based studies
(Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, etc.) preferred. Experience / Knowledge & Skills
Experience in a
National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC)
or other
highly regulated laboratory
environment preferred. Prior work in the
Sample Receiving department
of a high-volume laboratory is desirable. Wet chemistry
experience preferred (e.g., pH, ammonia, alkalinity, turbidity, etc.). Experience in
handling and preparing environmental samples
for analysis according to
EPA, ASTM , or similar protocols. Strong
communication and interpersonal skills
with the ability to interface effectively with internal teams and plant personnel. Computer proficiency
in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with
instrument and data management software . Understanding of
OSHA laboratory safety requirements
under
40 CFR 1910 . Job Responsibilities
Work safely and identify potential hazards, implementing corrective actions for unsafe conditions. Receive and log samples
into the
Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
for analysis. Prepare inorganic and organic samples
for analysis using appropriate laboratory instrumentation and analytical methodologies (EPA and ASTM). Perform
sample preservation
procedures (e.g., acid preservation) and ensure sample integrity. Order and maintain
adequate sample bottles and containers for environmental sampling. Conduct
routine laboratory housekeeping
and assist senior Laboratory Analysts as needed. Perform
administrative duties
such as inventory management, supply ordering, data entry review, and record organization. Support customers by filling
sample container orders , coordinating
sample sub-outs , and ensuring clarity and accuracy in analytical requests.
