Stanford Athletics is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach, Goalkeeper & Defense Coordinator, Field Hockey. The Assistant Coach is responsible for coaching the varsity field hockey team, assisting with recruiting, training, practice, team management, budget management, and team travel. The Goalkeeper Specialist Assistant Coach will also participate in summer camp operations, consistent with institutional and NCAA regulations. This is a one-year fixed-term position. Your responsibilities include :
Designing practice sessions for goalkeepers, assessing and developing individual growth plans. Assisting the Head Coach with defensive strategies and gameplay. Providing daily video coding and analysis for goalkeepers and team members. Supporting a healthy team culture focused on self-awareness, teamwork, integrity, and excellence. Organizing training and practice sessions, utilizing video analysis for feedback within NCAA regulations and respecting student-athletes’ academic commitments. Assisting in recruiting top student-athletes, adhering to NCAA and university admission standards. Coordinating logistics for visiting teams, recruits, and other stakeholders. Participating in departmental meetings, compliance training, and outreach activities. Performing additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Collegiate or professional coaching experience required. Division I coaching experience preferred. 1-3 years coaching goalkeepers or as an assistant coach in field hockey. Strong interpersonal skills for working with student-athletes, staff, and the public. Proficiency with office applications, Hudl, or SportsCode. Ability to comply with Stanford, NCAA, and ACC rules and regulations. Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team environment. Coaching experience in soccer does not qualify for this position. DAPER’s Integrity :
This position, along with all DAPER staff, is responsible for maintaining the integrity and reputation of Stanford’s athletics program, complying with university policies and NCAA/ACC regulations. Salary Range:
