Overview

Lehman College, of The City University of New York, invites applications for a full-time (9-month) tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position in the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences. The Department enrolls an average of 350 undergraduate and 100–125 graduate students each year. The teaching load is 18 credit hours over a 9-month appointment. The College emphasizes teaching, research, service to the college and community, and student engagement with advisement. There are opportunities to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate clinicians, collaborate with other CUNY faculty in research, and seek external funding. Lehman supports faculty development and travel awards, with internal funding available through competitive grants for scholarship and professional development.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences (teaching load of 18 credit hours over a 9-month appointment). Supervise graduate clinicians and collaborate with other faculty on research projects. Contribute to service to the college, university, and community, including student advisement and engagement. Pursue scholarly development with opportunities for external funding; participate in faculty development activities and travel awards. Qualifications

Ph.D. degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences or an equivalent field. Evidence of an established or developing scholarly agenda. The ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Preferred Qualifications

Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CCC-SLP). Experience teaching college-level courses online, in hybrid, and/or in-person modalities. Clinical experience in speech-language pathology and/or audiology, plus supervision experience. Experience advising undergraduate students and supervising practicum work and external placements. Clinical or teaching experience with linguistically and culturally diverse populations. Expertise in neuroscience, speech science, articulation and phonology, fluency, audiology, dysphagia, hard of hearing, or AAC; consideration given to additional areas. Bi-lingual ability is desirable. Compensation
