Assistant Professor - Modern Philosophy (Finance) The Department of Philosophy at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 9-month, full-time and tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning on August 7, 2026. Salary is negotiable. Position Requirements
Minimum qualifications:
Ph.D. in Philosophy or cognate field by time of appointment. AOS: Early Modern Philosophy. AOC: open. Preferred qualifications include at least one year of teaching experience in the listed area of specialization, strong research record with continued research potential, demonstrated excellence in teaching philosophy, and potential to contribute to USFs strategic plan. Duties and Expectations
This is a 9-month appointment with a typical teaching load of 2/2. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to mentoring and supervising Ph.D. students and to participate actively in research within the Philosophy Department and USF community. Application Process
