Environment and Geography The Environment and Geography Department at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time lecturers for Environment and Geography courses. Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus

with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool is used to fill vacant positions as needed throughout the academic year.

Applications in this pool are valid only for the current academic year.

The pool will close effective May 31st. A master’s degree in a related field. Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in California is a condition of employment. Preferred qualifications: A doctorate in a closely related field. Higher education experience teaching Environment or Geography courses. Preference given to applicants demonstrating intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community in teaching and, if applicable, service. Salary is commensurate with degree level and experience Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $8,000 per full-time month The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is as follows: CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY:

$5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY:

$6,221 - $13,224 per full-time month The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, based on education and experience.
