The College of Technical Sciences at Montana State University Northern (MSUN) invites applications for an academic-year (10-month), tenure-track Assistant Professor of Automotive/Diesel Technology (ATDI), Tenure Track to begin August 1, 2025. Effective teaching is the primary mission of this position at MSU Northern. The

This position will teach approximately 12-14 semester credit hours of lecture/laboratory technology courses per semester, pertaining to the automotive, diesel and ag mechanics fields. Other duties will include student advising, office hours, class and lab maintenance, academic committee assignments, program development, student recruitment, industry training, and fostering of industry partnerships. Expected courses will include, but are not limited to electrical/electronics, automotive technology courses (engines, engine diagnostics, brakes, steering/suspension), and auto/diesel/ag mechanics courses (e.g., Heating/Air Conditioning). Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

A Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, or a related field Recent industry work experience with a strong background in electrical/electronics, engines, automotive/diesel systems Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication Demonstrated strength in interpersonal skills and attributes Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Experience and willingness to embrace new technologies Master’s Degree in related field Note: A Master’s degree will be required for tenure. Special Requirements
