UT MAIN CAMPUS Responsibilities
Carries out entry-level engineering and scientific research in applied robotics for use in extreme environments, particularly in the nuclear, oil and gas industries, and/or military applications though other application areas may be considered Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering and scientific techniques used in routine research Document observations and measurements to ensure conformity to project specifications Perform other related duties as assigned Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate administrative information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Strong listening skills and a focus on customer advocacy. Extensive experience with MS Office products. Ability to travel up to 10% to work with project stakeholders. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting research, including experience contributing to or authoring scholarly publications in archival journals, filing of patent applications, and/or having received research funding from governmental and private funding agencies. Experience in CAD and 3D printing. Experience with basic wiring, DC circuits, and microcontrollers. Working knowledge of the application areas: nuclear, oil and gas industries, or the defense industry. Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on experience Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions Work in an academic research environment Working in a lab environment May work in field environments Work with large robotic systems or autonomous vehicles Occasional work with hazardous materials (chemical, cryogenics, compressed gas, and radioactive materials) Work Shift
M-F, flexible between hours of 7:30am-5:30pm Location: The University of Texas at Austin (UT) main campus (and Pickle Research Campus (PRC) occasionally.) Required Materials
