Overview
In-person RDN part-time outpatient position is available on South Hill in Puyallup, Washington. This independent position involves assisting in nutrition education, guidance, support, coaching and accountability for physician-referred patients. The patient population includes individuals with health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, celiac disease, Crohn's disease, IBS/SIBO, lipid management and obesity/weight management.
Starting Date Dependent on which day(s) of week RDN will be available to work.
Responsibilities
Provide multiple 60-minute Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) sessions in-person to engage patients and support optimal clinical outcomes.
Offer remote MNT when transportation issues, inclement weather, illness of the patient, or illness of a family member arise.
Educate, guide, support, coach and hold patients accountable to their nutrition plans.
Develop and implement a consistent plan of care for patients with various health conditions in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Build rapport with patients through listening and relationship-building to encourage adherence to MNT recommendations.
Contribute to a positive professional reputation within the community and with referring providers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
Certified in Washington state through the Department of Health (DOH)
Independent practitioner
Self-motivated & personable
Efficient & thorough
Reliable & responsible
Desired Qualifications
MNT outpatient experience is a plus
Active listening and strong communication to build trust and foster adherence
Compensation & Availability Up to $10,000 in bonuses/retention. External candidates only. Requires a 2-year commitment.
