District Overview Location of assignment will be Cranford, NJ with project assignments across the NE Region. The organization relocates teams based on work availability, development plans, skill sets, and career goals of each team member.
Location This position is based in Cranford, NJ and will be assigned to projects throughout the NE Region.
Responsibilities
Managing the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach to work.
Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting occupational illness and accident statistical data at the project level.
Recommending process and product safety features that will reduce employee exposure to chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
Routinely inspecting facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure safety regulation compliance.
Routinely monitoring the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coaching employees on correct behaviors when observed.
Developing environmental health and safety training materials (manuals, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, etc.).
Developing a paperwork management system to track training records for all safety training initiatives conducted personally or by outside consultants/vendors.
Interpreting safety regulations for the project.
Coordinating and presenting safety training to support client requirements, including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout, and repertoire.
Interfacing with OSHA (Provincial or federal) officials/inspectors in the event of a site visit.
Qualifications
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field preferred. Below are required:
Minimum of 10 years / 5 years of experience on similar projects.
30-hour OSHA construction, or equivalent – within the last 5 years.
An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years.
Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills; strong written and verbal communication.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; comfortable with computer-based reporting and documentation.
Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying discrepancies.
Strong work ethic; effective both independently and in team environments.
Able to interact professionally with all levels of management while managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred (within the last two years).

Base Compensation:
$130,000/yr - $140,000/yr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and location)
