Job Overview
This position offers an exciting and unique opportunity for an accomplished physician-investigator to shape the future of genitourinary cancer care and research at a leading academic medical center and NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Reporting to the CEO of Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Chair of the Department of Oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine, the GU Multidisciplinary Team Leader will lead a multidisciplinary team of 16 physician faculty and will also serve as a member of senior leadership committees, including the Scientific Leadership Council, where they will represent the Prostate Cancer Center of Excellence, Medical Executive Committee and the Clinical Leadership Council. As the Medical Director of the Prostate Cancer Center of Excellence, this leader will establish the strategic direction of the prostate cancer research program, overseeing the design of projects, and enhancing the interactions between basic and clinical research within prostate cancer. Responsibilities and Requirements
Develop and lead high-functioning multidisciplinary teams within a cancer center Lead an externally funded program of research supported by NIH, industry, foundation, or other sources MD, DO, or equivalent terminal medical degree Current certification in any of the oncology specialties Organization
